Frequently asked questions

Received a claim?

What does the amount in my claim include?
The principal amount, late-payment interest under the Norwegian Late Payment Interest Act, and statutory collection costs under Norwegian debt collection legislation. Each amount is listed separately in the message you received.
How do I pay a claim from Audun?
Log in to My Page, use the link in your message, or pay through your bank using the account number and KID payment reference from the message. The amount is the same, and none of these methods costs extra.
What if I cannot pay the full amount now?
You can easily set up a payment plan directly in My Page, or contact us to find a solution.
I disagree with the claim. What should I do?
Log in to My Page and send us a message explaining what is wrong. We pause the case while we review your objection.
Is the claim settled once I have paid Audun?
Yes. When you pay the full amount to Audun, you are released from the claim, just as if you had paid the amount directly to the creditor before it went to collection.
What happens if I pay too much?
Any excess payment will be refunded, including if the claim is subsequently withdrawn. Let us know, and we will follow up on the refund.
How do I know a message from Audun is genuine?
We never ask for your card number, password or BankID codes. If you are unsure, you can call the business you purchased from and ask whether the case has been sent to Audun, or contact us before paying.
Where can I complain about how Audun has handled my case?
If you believe we have made a mistake, please contact us so we can improve. If you are a consumer and still disagree, you can take your complaint to Finansklagenemnda, the Norwegian Financial Services Complaints Board. For matters involving personal data, you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
Will I get a payment default registered against me?
Not simply because Audun is handling the case. For individuals, a payment default can only be registered after legal steps, such as a decision by the conciliation board or enforcement proceedings by the enforcement officer.

For businesses

What does Audun do for our business?
Audun follows up unpaid invoices for you: a reminder before the due date, followed by a payment reminder or collection warning and a formal demand for payment. We suggest a payment plan where needed and transfer recovered payments to you, with reporting.
Is Audun licensed to collect debts?
Yes. Audun Collection AS holds a debt collection licence from Finanstilsynet, the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway. All follow-up complies with Norwegian debt collection law and good debt collection practice.
What happens if a case requires legal recovery?
Legal action is a last resort. If a case reaches that stage, public court fees are passed through at cost, and you can follow the case as usual.
How do we keep track of our cases?
You can see the status of every case, messages sent and received, agreements reached and payments made. You also get consolidated reporting.
What happens if a customer disputes a claim?
Collection activity pauses while a case manager reviews the objection. You can see the case status, and follow-up continues once the matter has been clarified.
Which channels and languages does Audun use?
SMS, email and phone, in more than 15 languages. Customers reply through the channel that suits them, and all communication is kept in one history you can see.
Does Audun have an API?
Yes. The Claims API is available after onboarding. The documentation is in English. Claims can be submitted as CSV or Excel files, or through your billing or accounting system by agreement.
How does Audun follow up without harming customer relationships?
By getting in touch early, using a calm tone and offering a solution the customer can keep. Section 8 of the Norwegian Debt Collection Act prohibits unreasonable pressure and misleading information, and our approach follows those requirements.
